Welcome to Silversands Family Resort !

We are located in the South Area of Almaguin Highlands, West of Algonquin Park, North of Huntsville, East of Hwy.11, at end of Hwy. 518, on Sand Lake 10 km north of Kearney.
Our beautiful, peaceful location with natural sand beach gradually slopping making swimming safe for even the youngest of children, will offer you a vacation that you will want to return to again.
Stroll through the miles of wooded lands surrounding the resort, picking wild blueberries, raspberries and mushrooms as you wish.  Explore the waterways on canoes, motorboats, surfbikes or kayaks and watch the loons and ducks.  Catch trout, perch, whitefish or small mouth bass. Bike through the network of graveled country roads that butt up next to Algonquin Park!
Who knows -  you may be lucky and see a moose, deer, bear or just feed the squirrels and chipmunks so bring your camera. The scenery in the Near North with many lakes and rivers is breathtaking. Relax and enjoy the clean air and beauty of nature. As summer ends, enjoy the splendor of the Fall colours and Indian Summer - a truly breathtaking sight. It is beautiful here in winter. There is 260 km of groomed snowmobile trails on the Almaguin District Snowmobile Club System, cross country skiing , ice fishing and hunting. Owners are registered outdoor license/permit distributors.

Package Plan includes accommodation in your private 2 or 3 bedroom cabin, 14 foot aluminum boat , 9.9 Mariner motor,  and all the natural beauty Sand Lake and the Near North have to offer. 

Note:  We also have two bedroom cottages available for the winter season by the month, two months or three months.

All cottages are equipped with hot and cold water, flush toilets, private showers, electric fridge and stove, pots and pans, blankets, pillows, and a full deck across the front of each cottage.  You are required to bring your own linens, towels, radio, deck chairs and beach items.

For all of those sporty kind of people, Silversands Family Resort offers you fishing, snowmobiling and hunting packages.

Fish include Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Whitefish and Small Mouth Bass.

As for snowmobiling, there are 260 km of trails to follow in and around the area, Silversands being located on the 303 trail.

Hunting packages available with respect to moose, deer, small game animals and black bear for both American and Canadian clientele.

Proprietors assume no responsibility for the safe custody of any trailers, boats, equipment, accessories or other chattels located or left at Silversands, nor for any damage caused to the above referred items.

Boats are not equipped with running lights. Use after sunset is at your own risk.

When bringing your own boat, responsibility is yours.

Every overnight guest must be registered.
